Born in Kidderminster England in 1946 when the echoes of war were finally fading Jim Preece was husband to Diane and father to Sarah, Victoria, Joanna and Lewis Grandfather to Sophie, Christopher, Jonathon, Katharyn, Charlotte, Rose, Mackenzie, Taleah and Raphael. Jim from the age of 13 studied painting, lithography, glass making & design and pottery at Stourbridge School of Art.
He travelled through California and Mexico in 1970 studying Central American Art after being awarded a Bursary by The Royal Society of Arts LONDON. Moved to Australia in 1971, where he worked as a carpet designer in Melbourne, later moving to the Northern Beaches of Sydney and now via a stint in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales and after losing his lifelong partner says he has now found and settled in the place where dreams are made in Jamberoo New South Wales amongst the people he loves and respects.
